The small, charming, family-owned hotel exudes tradition and warmth, making me feel right at home in the heart of the historic center. Upon arrival, the friendly front office staff warmly welcomed us and guided us to nearby public parking garages, ensuring a smooth start to our stay. The view from our room overlooking the Old Bridge was simply mesmerizing, adding a touch of magic to our experience.The hotel's beer garden, with its picturesque terrace facing the Alte Brücke Bridge, was a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the historic ambiance of Heidelberg. The local and Austrian cuisine served in the country-style restaurant was a true culinary delight, further enhancing our stay.The room itself was tastefully decorated and equipped with modern amenities like a TV, minibar, and a private bathroom, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring the cobblestone streets and bustling market squares surrounding the hotel.Hotel Goldener Hecht is best suited for solo travelers and couples seeking a cozy and authentic experience in Heidelberg's Altstadt. The free WiFi, attentive service, and prime location near Hauptstraße shopping street made our visit truly memorable. I highly recommend this gem of a hotel for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the rich history and charm of Heidelberg.
